I’m a sugar addict. Always have been. When I was 19 I had just signed a modeling contract with Fondi Models in Helsinki — and the same time started working at a candy / film renting shop in my hometown. NOT THE BEST COMBO, as you can guess!

There was no even any clients on most days, so I just kept eating candy and watched movies every day. Thank God that didn’t last very long and I moved to Helsinki, otherwise my modeling career might have ended before it even started, lol!  Well, my sugar addiction didn’t end by leaving the job. Since my childhood I’ve craved for sugary sweets, almost every day. In high school I was binge eating donuts (a bag of ten sugary donuts DAILY) while watching my favorite tv shows with my high school sweetheart.

To this day, I’ve tried so many times quitting sugar. For me it doesn’t work that I only have a couple candies, I need to have the whole bagful. And that leads to skin imperfections, weight gain and bad mood. The sugar high doesn’t last very long so the benefits are smaller than the negative side effects. BOOORING! And as you all know, sugar is one of the worst addictions you can have. It makes you even more addicted than any drug, and if it was invented today, it would most likely be banned from the stores.

That said, there’s still so many other things than sugar that you can turn your focus into, so no matter if you’re as bad of a sugar-diet dude as myself, you can still find your way out!! I have a few tips that can help you too:

TIPS FOR DEFEATING YOUR
SUGAR ADDICTION

1 Get a new addiction. Like carrots.

2 Drink water. Lots of water.

3 Bake healthy raw cakes that are just as good as sweets!

4 Work out. (Yoga works for me, you get the good feeling.)

5 Have great sex. No need to explain.

6 Eat organic food !!! Get just the right nutrients in.

7 SLEEP. When your basic needs are fulfilled, you don’t need the empty addicting sugar carbs.

Enjoy life with less sugar!

XOXO,

Emmi
